While I have been very pleased with my digital life this summer of 2006, my personal life has been having some major ups and downs. Needless to say, I feel like I should take a personal inventory that ranks the top things in my life, if not just to make me feel better, it will at least put them out there. Now, some of these things are things; just objects that I think are really cool and sometimes actually keep me sane. In other cases, I am listing people; people extremely important to me. So, this is a very personal list that may give you an insight into the insane and weird person that is me, J David.
10) Tivo: Here is the thing. I don’t actually have tivo at my house. We don’t even have a satellite dish or anything. It’s just that I have used it at my girlfriends house, and I have learned to love it… I mean, pause, rewind and fast forward live tv! And who doesn’t love that glorious little sound when you select a show? *Bloonk* (that was my take on onomatopoeia for the sound). Simply put, this is the best invention since television itself, and as soon as I can, I will be getting myself a tivo system.
9) Diet Coke: Just a few short months ago, I was calling this stuff “Coca Light,” but no matter what you call it, it is just a fantastic beverage. It is the absolute best liquid on Earth. Although, I do feel like I am a little addicted… But hey, there isn’t cocaine in this stuff anymore, right?… Eitherway, obey you thirst! And it is not telling you to drink sprite! Only diet coke for you!
Brandeis University: I haven’t even started school yet, and I am already in love with this place. I was actually freaking out about whether or not I would get into the school, but I even got a nice fat scholarship. I am going to be studying economics and finance and hopefully this place is going to help me be a very successful man. Plus, I get to live in Boston!
7) My Laptop: I don’t care what you think about Gateway; I own a convertible notebook and I couldn’t be happier with it. I have got to hand it to Microsoft for their fantastic Tablet PC software and OneNote. This was literally the only thing I took with me to class this past year and I don’t plan on changing that. The writing recognition is extremely accurate and I love how all of my notes are automatically indexed. Besides that, practically my whole life is stored on this bad boy, and for that I give thanks…
6) Meat Products: Don’t laugh! I am serious about this one! Not only am I a firm believer in the Atkins diet, but meat is just some tasty stuff. Now, don’t get carried away with some gay jokes here. I am just saying that I love me a barbecue with hamburgers and grilled chicken. Sometimes my cold-cut obsession is a little sickening…
5) Designer Labels: Now, I have recently been released by my parents “into the wild” so to speak. Namely, my financial support is gone and it is time to work. Nevertheless, I have built a strong taste for top designers. My favorites are Prada and Gucci, so get out there and splurge every once in a while! It’s good for you, if not for your wallet!
4) Animal Planet: This is a weird obsession of mine. I can’t quite explain it, but I can’t get enough of this channel! I mean, whose doesn’t love those feisty little Meerkats? And late at night, when all other channels are showing crappy infomercials, this is one of the only channels giving me riveting programs about lions and sharks. Animal Planet is just plain awesome.
3) Football/Basketball: Since the wee age of like 4 and until I graduated high school, I had been going to every Miami Hurricanes home football game. I just loved it (to the point where I used to cry if we lost…). As I got older, I have also started following the Miami Heat (ever since 2003). I am just into these sports. I do everything I can to watch them and they are just the most exciting things on television (not to mention gut wrenching and nerve racking). Go Canes and Heat!!
2) Family/Friends: Here is a no brainer. This is only in second place because of number one. I love my family and friends with all of my heart. Of course, my family will always support me and my friends (all 2 of them) are the best. I just hope they realize how much I appreciate them; even if they are only represented here by a cheesy cartoon…
1) Chelsea: Well, there is no surprise here. My girlfriend, Chelsea Stephens, is absolutely the most important thing in my life. No matter what problems we have had, I cannot stop loving her. She is literally what my life is about and this summer has been really hard without her . I just cannot wait until we can see eachother again.
Well, if you made it this far, I just want to say thanks for sticking with me. Also, I want to mention that this entry was inspired by About Web Logs Meme #2: Favorite Things. Sometimes I am short on inspiration…

There’d be trouble if the girlfriend wasn’t number 1
These are great! I would put Diet Coke much higher in the list, as I am guzzling one down right now… In my life, I think it may be ranked right up there with, say, my wife…
That was so sweet. That really shows how much u r in love with u r girlfriend…
