It seems to me that one of the most underused plugins for Firefox is Stylish. It allows you to customize the stylesheet of any website. Don’t like the look of YouTube? Just go ahead and modify the stylesheet yourself! This plugin can really only exist thanks to web standards. Obviously, the tool isn’t as powerful with a site that is a table filled, flash based mockery of web design. But with those nice XHTML layouts, you can really make some great customizations. To illustrate its power, I have used it to spruce up my suite of Google Tools. It is not only the look that can be changed, but some functionality as well. Just remember to install the plugin first! Anyhow, check out my new Google stuff:
Well, this page really has no functionality enhancements. I am just loving the color scheme and the nifty, reflective logo. The only styling you need is the Dark Blue Redesign(Download Here).
Now, I have two good things cooking here. First, I have a style that enlarges your attachment icons and identifies what type of file it is (Download Here). Next, I used a good looking theme, that is subtle but attractive (Download Here).
This last enhancement is strictly cosmetic as well. But, damn is it pretty… It has a strong OSX look to it. Everything looks really good, right down to the icons (Download Here).
So Go Download The Plugin And Start Sprucing Up Some Boring Sites! Trust Me When I Say It Is More Than Worth Your Time. Oh, And Don’t Forget To Share Your Work With Others.
I love the Dark Blue redesign of the Google Search page! I’m gonna try this out later. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, it actually really works well if you have a dark theme on your computer, because with the all white Google, the high contrast was kind of abrasive.
Yes I have used this quite extensively with my sites. The best part is when checked there are no html warnings or issues with it. This is a very clean process in web design.
Thanks for this site!
