Ah yes, it has indeed been a long time since I last had a Best Design Week Ever feature. This was not because I don’t love it anymore; on the contrary, I love it so much that I had to ignore it for a while in order to let it miss me, and then I would make a triumphant return… wait… what was I talking about? Oh right, best designs! Ok, so just go ahead and enjoy the list!
- 30 Days of Wallpapers: The grooveArmy site is going to be releasing 30 wallpaper over 30 days (they are already at number 22) and some of them are just plain delicious.
- 35 Designers x 5 Questions: Smashing Magazine gives you a series of 5 crucial web design questions and has the best in the business answer them. This is a must read.
- The Principles of Beautiful Web Design: This article from Sitepoint is really more like a novel. It analyzes web design trends and is definitely worth a second… or hour…
- The Monster List of Freelancing Job Sites: Are you a web designer? Are you poor? Do you need a job really badly? Well, the folks over at Freelance Switch have compiled a nice big list for ya!
- Salmon Wordpress Theme: In case you hadn’t heard about this, Justin Shattuck has released his theme as a sweet Wordpress theme. It is one of the best available.
- 56 Most Creative Logos: This massive list of logo’s is really a great source of inspiration. So stop lallygagging and get your logo inspiration on!
Awesome list! I’ve been to grooveArmy’s 30 days of wallpapers (they have some really neat ones) the other ones are new to me. Thanks for sharing!
You are most definitely welcome!
I downloaded the Salmon theme in the hopes of customizing it and using as my new theme but I wasn’t able to finish as I was busy with other things. Oh well, hopefully I could do it next weekend. I really need a new blog theme.
Well, I know that your current theme is based off of an old Bartelme theme. Did you see that he released another one?
Excellent list. I’m in the proceess of choosing some new wallpapers now…
Thanks!
Paul
You’re welcome, Paul. I am using one myself!
Just bought the book “The Principles of Beautiful Web Design” you mentioned, I am hoping it will help me transfer my design knowledge to web. I have only had a quick flick through but so far it looks like it could be pretty good for designers and non designers alike.
I hope it helps you, Tara. I would love it if you kept me up to date with what you were doing!
Thanks for telling me bout the Dark theme by Bartelme. I tried it a few days but it’s too dark for me so I reverted to my old theme but customized it into a 3 column theme.
No prob, Jaypee. I was just throwing it out there for you as a possibility.
