I found this list via Threadwatch and it was written by skore.
In PC Magazine’s upcoming May 8th issue they list the 10 most commonly used passwords online – if you are using any of these please turn off your computer immediately, go take a nap and then download this add-on for FireFox.
- password
- 123456
- qwerty
- abc123
- letmein
- monkey
- myspace1
- password1
- blink182
- (your first name)
You know, I never once used any of these passwords… But I still kinda want to take a nap…
This is pretty true. I have used almost all of them but for testing purposes only.
That’s pretty interesting, and funny. Kinda sad that people think they’re safe by using those :S
Some people don’t realize the importance of having secure passwords until it’s too late. This is one of the things I continue on emphasizing to my family and friends. Better safe than sorry is what I always say.
Well now I kinda feel like the odd one out… Why had I never heard of these before… I kinda wish I would have used that letmein one… It actually made me laugh.
