I got some inspiration this morning from an odd source: the free Boston daily called Metro. They were talking about a few gadget blogs with a slant for women. I thought that was a great idea. It does seem like the internet is a bit of a sausage fest and it was about time some women logged on. However, most of the things on the internet are still geared towards men, especially anything technical. But here I will give you a list of gadget blogs written with women in mind. Oh and don’t forget, the top commentators have reset (new month), so be sure to leave some feedback!
The badge at the beginning of the post above was courtesy of Deziner Folio. Go download the set for yourself!
It’s nice to see more girls getting into blogging, gadgets, anything technical, or just walking by the 95% male Computer Science lecture halls. Though do all those blogs have to be so… pink?
Tony, now that’s an idea, I could become Pinky Love
Ha! One good use of the badge. Nice you gave the link too…
@Tony: Well, yes… As a matter of fact, they do have to be pink…
@Navdeep: No problem. Thanks for the badges!
Heh, I don’t know… pink just seems to be way overused in this niche. There are other colours too
Bit OT, unless girls rules here anyhow
David,
Do you have any example of reviews you made for review me? Since I got some review offers out of their “warehouse” and I don’t see really where they state the terms that any post has to follow.
Thanks and you will be linky loved for answering this
Hello there , what about me ?
@Linky: I have never been paid to do a review. So with that being said, I really haven’t reviewed the terms, but I thought that you could write what you think (not like pay per post, where I believe you have to be positive). But again, I am not sure… By the way, I have been working on an icon or two for ya. I will send them to you soon.
@Julia: I like your blog, but it isn’t exactly a gadget blog. Still good stuff though (I joined your blog log community).
Hi David,
Thanks, I received the favicons email, just need to get on my own computer and download them. Many, many thanks!
The PPP reviews will state that you have to write “neutral” or “positive” (”negative” seems to be a theoretical option only). Some do ask for honest feedback, and they appreciate it as well. (Beta sites like grokodile in their beta stage)
I just got approved for smorty that says you can write what you like, but “you shouldn’t be surprised advertiser won’t ask you again if you start writing negative”.
Will have a look at reviewme myself and see what happens, unless others have more feedback already?
