6 Hot New Wordpress Themes
Post Info Sunday, May 27th, 2007 4:46 pm by J David Print Print this page

Hot Themes!Recently, I released two Wordpress themes. Now you may be thinking that I am just a shameless self-promoter; well I am. But I am not solely that. There are tons of well known and not so well known designers out there working on some great new themes. So in the spirit of link love, I decided to share the best ones that I found with you all!

I found a great deal of these designs from this new site (at least new to me) called WPDesigner. It is definitely worth keeping an eye on; besides it is a great looking site. Now if only I could get one of my themes on there…

Cool - thanks for those. I hadn’t seen Minyx, but it’s now on my (very)shortlist of possible themes for my next refresh! WPDesigner’s fantastic, but I wish they’d release the theme that they’re using themselves! ;)

CopyBlogger and Grid Focus are the only ones there that I really like. Perhaps because they’re nice a minimal.
    Nice selection, though!

Personally, my favorite is Justin’s Salmon theme. I always loved it and am glad to see that he released it. I may mod it and make a secondary release.

Minyx and Grid Foxus are my favorites. (If you get a sidebar, it better be big, that’s what I think)

What’s actually your favorite JDavid (can include your own) and why?

For old time SEO sake: would it cost some “SEO marks” when using a theme like Salmon where the title is not the first line of the page?

    Thanks!

    Wow, Salmon just plain rocks!

You know what, Linky? I am not sure about that SEO question…

I am not sure either about that SEO question, therefor I always take themes with title on top (which is sometimes a real pain in the butt as I miss out on a lot of beautiful and functional themes like this…)

    Great themes. Nice works.

Among the 6 themes listed, I’ve tried 5 of them on my sandbox and used only one for my actual blog and that was the Freshy theme. I think I’ll sit down and try customizing the Salmon. I also like it and I think that it has great potential for a WP theme. :)
Btw, I did use the Dark theme in my blog for a couple of days and ended up reverting to my old theme. It’s just too dark for me. Hopefully someone would modify it and create a lighter color scheme. Maybe you can do it? :D

i’ve used salmon before but i think i downloaded the “beta” one. too many broken things and i’m not very good at fixing those up. But, I sure love salmon’s layout! so unique! gonna download the latest one soon.

My favorite is lounge 2 ;P
I kind of am in love with it, seriously. It’s very compact and fast. Warm in one word.
