Midland (”Midland” is not necessarily the same thing as “Midwest”) The default, lowest-common-denominator American accent that newscasters try to imitate. Since it’s a neutral accent, just because you have a Midland accent doesn’t mean you’re from the Midland.

I got midland too. However, I am an immigrant from Taiwan. I don’t natively speaking English.

I actually carry a pretty heavy southern accent. I live in Tampa, Florida which is my hometown of origin. Here I meet many Midland accents… I get immediately assumed to be from Alabama. People ask me where my accent is from. I reply “Florida”.

I got neutral, which kind of makes sense. I live in Georgia, and my dad’s side of the family lives in Tennessee and Kentucky, but my dad (who is much younger than his other siblings) was raised in Indiana. My mom was raised in Georgia, but she and neither of her parents have a strong southern accent. My mom’s brothers are in Georgia, but my mom’s sister lives in South Carolina. I have three friends from Wisconsin, and had a soccer coach from England. XD
