As my nifty little graphic implies, I am going to show you how to use Firefox and Google to rock out with some new tunes! If you have seen a post detailing how to use Google to search for mp3 files (I first saw it here), then you are already familiar with the technique. The only difference is that now, we are going to make a Firefox bookmark and be able to search for these files quickly, without that long string of gibberish.

The beauty of Firefox and this bookmark is that there is a quick and easy way to search for things. Just type the keyword and what you are looking for into the address bar (artist name) and bam! Your results will pop up. It really couldn’t get any easier.
I found this great info via Friedbeef’s Tech.
I am not advocating the illegal download of music; I am merely showcasing a method to find certain types of files.

That’s a handy way of using “index of” trick.
Wow, I haven’t seen that MP3 search trick before…totally blew my mind! I’m not really a big music collection guy. I don’t keep a bunch of MP3’s or CD’s around, but I like to listen to specific songs every now and then….kinda like a craving for a specific food.
Up until now, I’ve unfortunately been having to use MySpace music (ugh) to meet this need. However, you’ve presented a better solution.
Thanks!
hmm I’m now adding this to my MP3 arsenal which consists of
· last.fm (previews)
· limewire (single files)
· bittorent (full albums)
· dc (extremely rare recordings)
Read this few days back. This trick actually works. Didn’t test for new songs though.
um, it is really funny when you say “rock out”…plus, sometimes my “i” key doesn’t work…what do i do?
first of all, i need to pinch myself, because my girlfriend actually visited my web site! WOOHOO!
Second, I think that I am in a constant state of rocking out…
Finally, what do you mean your “i” key doesn’t work?… Is it like when the dog stepped on mine, or it just doesn’t type anything?
hey how do u put in the “index” code?
I am not quite sure what you are asking about. Do you mean the url that you put into the “Location” Box? Because, you click on the word Location in the post above and it will give you your options.
Hmm:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&q=-inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:”index of” mp3 “beatles”&btnG=Search
Oh crap…
Damn parser.
Like that
OK. I give up.
Here’s the query to google:
-inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:”index of” mp3 “beatles”
thanks. it is very usefull info.
Great tip. Just another reason why firefox rules!
Isn’t it just easier to use a site like http://www.myspacegrab.com/ ?
Firefox Google = Itunes picture))
-inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:”index of” mp3 “beatles”
this method works great to get free music
does not work
This is a good way of using bookmark. I tried to use something like that before, but it was in vain. This one works perfectly
doesn’t work for me
This trick actually works. Didn’t test for new songs though.
I have used it.
