It is no secret; I am all about Simplicity in Design. I love clean, minimalistic interfaces that don’t create a barrier between the user and the content; they enhance the experience, while barely being noticed at all. So, in the spirit of simplicity, I am offering to you a collection of some of my favorite simple WordPress themes; hell, these are some of my favorite WordPress themes period. So please proceed, look at, download, and enjoy the very best simplicity has to offer.
Some of these themes are older, while others are much newer. Quite frankly, their age doesn’t change the fact that they are simple and beautiful (I will spare you the old adage about wines). I haven’t included any of my themes, since I don’t think they are quite at the highest level, but that is my opinion. Anyhow, this collection should serve as a great starting point for those looking for a great theme for their blog, or better yet, for designers to draw inspiration from. After all, design shouldn’t be all about gradients, reflections and an untold number of diagonal stripes.

Anyway Lounge 2 theme (the current theme of this blog) is still my favorite. It’s not a free theme though.
I found some of these templates to almost be too bland, but I really like the last one. Simpress
I just love sites with clean white backgrounds. Makes the most comfortable reading and looks really simple and elegant.
yes clean and simple designs are good but these here they are just too simple, like not completed.

Great choices I love minimalist and simple themes, actually my favorite is simpla.
Cutline is definately the best theme by a long shot. Nice grid based layout. Very nice.
I like a Copyblogger Theme, thanks for sharing it.
All the themes look great, however the first one seems to be the best IMHO.

I use Elegant Blue on all my blogs. I just could not find a nicer style. I also was going to go cutline but.. Elegant wins.

I really like the first wordpress theme, I feel that is the most beautiful! I might even use that design as a base for my next wordpress design on my personal website.
