I have been working tremendously hard for the past few months to shape up this blog. A while back, I wrote a post outlining how I felt that this blog was severely under performing. In fact, being a finance student, I would have recognized this blog as having strong potential but being poorly managed, thereby making it a takeover target. Well, I decided to take matters into my own hands, and with some help from my small, but loyal group of readers, I have reached some great milestones.
I know that being in the top 100,000 sites is no huge deal, but it was a goal that I set for myself a while ago. I remember being in the millions and it seems like getting to this point was a great achievement. There were spikes in traffic along the way, thanks mostly to Stumbleupon, but otherwise I have seen a nice upward trend in traffic.
As far as the Alexa rankings are concerned, I truly believe that some of the tactics I tried that were specifically geared towards Alexa really paid off. I would recommend that everyone follow these tips, because they certainly had a hand in my ranking improvement.
I want to thank kitap for contributing the 1000th comment on this blog! Community is one of the things I hope to grow here at J David Macor.com and reaching this plateau is a sign that I am starting to be successful at it. I want to encourage everyone to respond to the dumb things that I say! Challenge me or cheer me on; whatever. Just participate!
So, this is still in fact just a milestone; it is not the end of the road. This site has far more yet to offer and I hope that you readers will stick around to see it. In fact, I remember how for the longest time, my readership hovered around 12… Those were great times. Speaking of readership, don’t forget to subscribe! Anyhow, lets take a look at the new goals I have set:
So, thank you for sticking with me through this whole time, and I look forward to an exciting future!
Congrats on your success David! I subscribed to your blog the other week, and I’ll try and help you realize your 15 comment per post goal when I am able to contribute something to a post of yours!
Nice rise in stats here… and great goals for the future. Personally I set my goals a little high, alexa/google/key terms/revenue… and it makes me work that much harder on getting to that point. I’ve watched your blog grow and it’s given me hope, even if i change things around a little to often.
On the upside I’m near breaking the 200k mark in alexa and I’ve finally started my to get in my “posting groove”.
