My Top 5 Places To Visit If I Had Money

06.18.08 Posted in Top Lists, Travel by jdmacor

So the other day I was really wanting to be on a vacation. I am talking, anywhere. I could care less. I would go to the beaches here in Texas if I had to. But later that night, after I really thought about it, I came up with a short list of places that I really want to go to someday. Hopefully, I will eventually have this elusive money stuff so that I can go on quite a few great vacations. But until then, I will just post beautiful pictures on my blog…

Israel

Alaska

French Polynesia

Prague

Moscow

So those are the places I would go to if I had the money. I don’t yet, but eventually, I will. Where would you visit if you had the money?

Your choices are so different to mine. I’ve never been to Europe, so my top two are France and Italy. Also, Hawaii is always a favorite place of mine.

I’m back from Israel 2 weeks ago and I liked this country. But I’m not understand about Moscow -imho is not pleasant city

  4. Emrick says:

    Nice places! Interesting picks.
Israel: You may be either Christian, Jewish, or interested in one of these religions.
Alaska: Going towards the wilderness and the snow. Search of the wild nature and pristine untouched nature.
French Polynesia: Going to a very much visited place, warm weather, Ocean, French speaking tourists.
Prague and Moscow: Cultural places, with long history, and the other side of Europe. Less touristic, yet full of culture.
A well balanced choice. Have a nice trip!

@Nicole: Interesting picks! It seems like you could knock out 90% of your list on 1 trip!

@Xeldec: Hawaii would also be on my list, but I didn’t want to include a place in the country that I live in.

@ssn: I guess Moscow to me just has this bleak charm and some amazing architecture.

@Emrick: Thanks for the psychoanalysis! You have confirmed my suspicion that I am crazy.

  6. Nicole Price says:

That is the whole idea! Can’t keep traipsing off every now and then can one?

  7. Xeldec says:

Oh. I love Hawaii. Sometimes the best places are just right there in your own backyard. :)

  8. Travel blog says:

    yeh, all are great places.
i would add singapore too :D

  9. Wow, nice pick. Personally, I would love to travel to – Tibet, China, Alaska, Italy and Russia

  10. 1. Egypt
    2. Barcelona
    3. Honk Kong
    4. Alaska
    5. Rome

I had visited Prague a few years ago. I was a great decision. Try to visit Romania as well. Great views.

  11. Symbian says:

    Moscow is kinda noisy place.

  12. Como 23 says:

    The choices surprised me!
I certainly would have expected Monaco to be right up there, or at the very least, Menton and Lake Como.

  13. Robert says:

These are all beautiful places to visit and I’m sure you will enjoy some of them one day.
My only comment is having just returned from the
Cook Islands it is an unspoilt paridise much cheaper quieter and in some ways better than French Polynesia
I can see your heart is set on Tahiti or Bora Bora but my alternative is definitely the Cook Islands (an unspoilt paridise if such a thing still exists)
    Happy travells Robert

  14. paulette says:

Life is short, better enjoy it!

  15. Lee says:

The Caribbean is awe inspiring one of the most beautiful places, not so much the bigger commericial islands but the smaller out of the way ones; Bermuda, Mustique, Nevis etc.

I like you wish to see Moscow, the culture and history fascinate me, altough I confess to not hearing the best things.

  16. Steve says:

These are great pictures! I have only been to Alaska. I have a cousin who is a fisherman and I spent a month working on his boat. It was a great experience, would not want to do it full time though!

  17. French Polynesia? Interesting choice. What motivated that one?

  18. Nicole Price says:

Since writing my above comment, I have catching up with a number of travelogues and East Europe seems to offer a great deal of hidden and low profile places to visit.

  19. SEO forums says:

  20. Danny Cooper says:

I think its not ‘if we had money’ but more like ‘when we have money!’ :P

  23. jonnyjayhawk says:

French Polynesia looks like that pic came straight out of pirates of the caribeen. that totally just became one of my top spots now. thanks

  24. Katya says:

    Please be careful in Moscow:)

i’m with you on prague. it used to be quite the central location and seat of power a long time ago. so there is grandeur in that place.

  37. Interesting picks! how about adding Bali (Indonesia) as one of your destination

  38. An interesting pick of places. I would have thought Moscow would be too cold for me.

I think 5 is too less a number. If I had the money I would keep traveling and do nothing. Nothing better than to see new places and meet new people.

    5. Singapore << cool metropolitan city

  45. Mini Laura says:

I want to visit Prague too. I don’t know where that started (I think it was because of a Vin Diesel movie I saw a couple of years back). I have a couple of places I want to go to, I just can’t get them on paper (or on my blog) because when I do start writing, I have too much on my mind. And yeah, a list of five is too little.
