As part of my new life makeover, I need to get myself fit; because right now, I am the exact opposite. Yet, the time has never been better for me to get in shape. I have plenty of time to exercise, I have just come off repairing my ACL, and I am extremely motivated. In my hunt for a routine, I have come across this one hundred push ups challenge. And boys and girls, I have taken it!
Here is a little intro from the website:
If you’re serious about increasing your strength, follow this six week training program and you’ll soon be on your way to completing 100 consecutive push ups!
Think there’s no way you could do this? I think you can! All you need is a good plan, plenty of discipline and about 30 minutes a week to achive this goal!
No doubt some of you can already do 50 consecutive push ups, but let’s face it, you’re in a big minority. Most of you reading this won’t even be able to manage 20 pushups. Actually, I’m sure many of you can’t even do 10.
However, it really doesn’t matter which group you fall into. If you follow the progressive push ups training program, I’m positive you’ll soon be able to do 100 push ups!
In order to get started with the program, the first thing you need to do is gauge where you are in terms of strength. To do this, you simply need to do as many push ups in a row as you can. The number of good form push ups that you can do at one time is your starting point. From there, you look at the chart on the initial test page, and then start your 6 week workout!
I completed 14 push ups in one session. How many can you do? Will you start the program?
Do women do push ups?
It’s an interesting proposition. I too need to do some exercising. It sure seems like achievable. I’ve checked the site and will try it.
@Nicole: I think push ups are an excellent exercise for women as well. The beauty of them is that they are always relative to your body weight.
@Xeldec: So far, I have only completed day 1, but I just feel better about myself. I really recommend it.
I guess the key is to be able to complete it until the last day. Sometimes I go great during the first week but then get lazy further along.
Yeah, push ups are an excellent exercise for women.
Ohhh no! I`m to lazy for this!!
I like push ups after army
And if serious is a good way for stay in good form
Hi - i’ve started challenge as well, into 2nd week. But site seems to have gone down. I haven’t printed out the whole program. Can anyone else get on site, or have the programme written down?
At the moment I think I’m somewhere between 10 and 20, I will give this challenge ago and see how I get on
Thanks for the link.
Okay this is not what I do! Have fun anyway…
Thanks for the info.
100 pushups is tough. I might be able to knock out 50 on a good day..
Comments is cool
So J … how are the push ups coming along? Almost 4 weeks, have you hit the hafway point yet? Congrat on making a healthy choice and I am all for whatever can get you motivated.
Good to see other people doing the challenge.
Here’s my progress. I’ve been stuck on week 5 due to time constraints, an almost non existent sleep schedule, and just plain being tired from biking and running.

Pushups are a fantastic exercise, for males and females to respond to an earlier comment. Also, although it’s not mentioned much - they are good for the midsection also.
I got inspired by the 100 push up business and decided to take up Pranayam. Its great for your sinus.
Your should visit Derek Semmler’s blog to see what has been happening in the contest!!
Good luck! With all the exercise routines out there sometime the best thing to do is get back to the basics.
Good luck with it. If it were me I wouldn’t be able to stick to the regime. I think I may try it though as I am not in that good a shape at the moment.
John
