Take The One Hundred Push Ups Challenge

As part of my new life makeover, I need to get myself fit; because right now, I am the exact opposite. Yet, the time has never been better for me to get in shape. I have plenty of time to exercise, I have just come off repairing my ACL, and I am extremely motivated. In my hunt for a routine, I have come across this one hundred push ups challenge. And boys and girls, I have taken it!

What Is The Challenge?

Here is a little intro from the website:

If you’re serious about increasing your strength, follow this six week training program and you’ll soon be on your way to completing 100 consecutive push ups!

Think there’s no way you could do this? I think you can! All you need is a good plan, plenty of discipline and about 30 minutes a week to achive this goal!

No doubt some of you can already do 50 consecutive push ups, but let’s face it, you’re in a big minority. Most of you reading this won’t even be able to manage 20 pushups. Actually, I’m sure many of you can’t even do 10.

However, it really doesn’t matter which group you fall into. If you follow the progressive push ups training program, I’m positive you’ll soon be able to do 100 push ups!

My Personal Benchmark

In order to get started with the program, the first thing you need to do is gauge where you are in terms of strength. To do this, you simply need to do as many push ups in a row as you can. The number of good form push ups that you can do at one time is your starting point. From there, you look at the chart on the initial test page, and then start your 6 week workout!

I completed 14 push ups in one session. How many can you do? Will you start the program?

  11. I wish I had the motivation to take up a challenge like this. I know there is no way I could even come close to 50 consecutive push ups, nevermind 100. I am out of shape and my laziness is ensuring I stay that way.

  15. I do judo and every training session for the past 11 years I’ve had to do push ups… yet, I can only seem to do about 4 without crumbling and falling flat on my face xD thanks for the post :)

  34. I do 30-35 pushups x 3 every morning before the shower, even a little jump rope for 10 minutes. It’s a good start to the day.
