Why Pay For Wordpress Themes?
This is in fact the million dollar question. With such a vibrant theme making community within Wordpress (including my very own creations), why should anyone bother paying? Well, the answer lies in market forces. When there is proper incentive like a price, more times than not, the end product will be of higher quality. Now, this is not always true and in some cases there are superior free themes (something I may have to post about later…). But my point is that you usually get what you pay for. Not only are you buying a better designed theme, but you usually also get support, free updates, and sometimes even the original PSD’s for your editing pleasure. In my opinion, a good looking theme is one of the best investments you can make for a blog. Nobody wants to frequent a blog that has the same generic theme as hundreds of other lousy blogs. You need something unique to make a good impression and keep them coming back for more.

I just started to blog using wordpress. Currently using free theme which I like it very much. Unique design is a must for professional blogger but for me, i’ll stick to the free one.
There’s nothing better than meeting your heroes and finding that they’re real, down-to-earth people. You can go out and have a beer with them and talk about something besides, ‘Oh, you’re great. I love your band.

Why pay for Wordpress themes when there are so many great free ones out there? It may take time to find the good free one, but it’s worth the search. The only advantage I see in buying one is if you aren’t technical, but being that I am a developer myself I can make any tweaks needed to the templates.

There are many great wordpress themes available at very cheap prices. However, I have never felt dearth of good themes free as well. You just need to be patient to check it.
