What is it about this J David guy? It probably has a lot to do with a single letter being his first name...

About Me:

Me and ChelseaI was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where I first realized that humidity would become my single greatest foe. Then, for reasons unknown to me now, I chose to start learning German in the third grade, which I continued all the way through high school. I graduated from Coral Gables Senior High with an International Baccalaureate Diploma, which I still believe, to this day, was the hardest thing I ever accomplished.

I then moved to Switzerland, to attend Franklin College, where I received my bachelor’s degree in international relations, with minors in Italian and Economics. I would have gone for at least a minor in German, since I had quite a bit of prior practice, but the school canceled the program when I was a freshman.

As a finale for my education, I went to Brandeis University’s International Business School, where I received my masters in economics and finance. I didn’t know until the day I graduated, but apparently I was the first in my family to receive a masters degree. Then again, there aren’t too many Macor’s around; but my dad was still proud.

At any rate, I now live in Dallas, Texas, where I am still looking to make my mark on the business world. I live with my girlfriend, Chelsea, and our two stupid dogs, Dixie and Wally (they may be stupid, but I love them to death; they are like children who never learn to talk). As for other interests, I love playing basketball, watching TV, going to the movies, buying the latest gadgets, hanging out with my 2 friends (girl friend included), and reading up on all kinds of news. I am usually not a big book reader, but lately I have taken an interest in Daniel Silva’s novels, which are fantastic. Well, if you made it this far, congrats! You are now finished with my whiny, self-indulgent mini-biography!

About This Site:

GoalsThis strange project began as a semester long assignment for my internet production class in January of 2006 at Franklin College, Switzerland. My professor didn’t know much about web design, but the class miraculously trudged forward. We were supposed to make a web page about ourselves to be our online presence. It needed to have a resume, and some pictures, and even some links to other sites that we liked. Basically, it was supposed to be a boring average website. Most of you will probably think that it is still a boring as hell website, but I have tried my little heart out to make it so much more…

I now am using this space for promoting myself (shameless, I know). I am always open to new opportunities, whether in business, finance or economics. On the side, I am doing some open source design work myself, which is showcased in the My Work section and I also walk through some graphics tutorials. My latest obsession is all things WordPress. I also like to share some tidbits from my personal life, which is peppered throughout the blog.

Here is a list of some of my friends, and by that I mean people who’s website I love/writing I admire; I know very few of them. If you are interested in a link exchange, just leave me a comment on any post asking for one!
